30 Cool Pink-ish Web Designs

Back
Who said that pink is only for little girls???

Numerous websites go pink for October, but not many web designers dare to use the pink color as it is in their works. Why? Well, maybe because of the stupid stereotypes that pink is a feminine color and tends to be associated with "cotton candy and bubble gum and babies, especially little girls."

"Color Psychology in Online Marketing" describes pink as a color "associated with softness, sweetness, innocence, youthfulness, tenderness."

When I recently asked a friend of mine who is a freelancer what he thinks about using pink in the web design, he said it’s "too delicate…" But beneath "delicate" I read "feminine, weak." And this is unfair. I like pink. I like pink in clothes, interior, furniture, cosmetics, etc. It doesn’t feel feminine or weak, but rather empowering and energetic. And after some research I’ve done I like pink in web design.

Below is the pink web design collection – some cool pink color schemes, some interesting pink elements, some famous brands created for and by women as well as men, but the ones that nevertheless contradict the stereotype of pink as a "little girls’ color."

actually, the pink on monitors makes me ill. It's too strong for my eyes. Soft pinks are nice for accent colors, but these are all ugly in my opinion.

Nice post Helen, I agree pink can be very effective. I used it as a big statement on my music site (RLVE.co.uk) to go with the punk/alternative feel of it, and definatly not weak or anything. Its more a stand out and be different in your face message, with the pink union jack and writting. :)
