Up to Pantone, Inc., decision, 2008 is the year of Blue Iris Color. Blue is considered trustworthy, committed, and soothing. It's easy on eyes and pleasant to look at. Besides, it's considered least "gender specific" color, having equal appeal to both men and women.

And though Pantone defines the color direction for fashion, cosmetics and home products in the first place, web designers seem to be getting their inspiration from Blue as well. After all, choosing the color is a work of art, whether in clothes, cosmetics, interior or web design.

Those pink designs were great but these blue ones might be even better! I saw Tomas Pojeta's and Friskdesign before and I think those are really stunning! I also like the first design very much!
