Logomyway.com - Where Art Goes Business.November 27, 2009, Category: Logo & Icon Design |

Can you please tell us a little about yourself, your background?
I was born in Ohio and have always had a Passion for being an entrepreneur. I started my own business selling car accessories in 1996. I started building online companies around 1999 and have been doing it ever since. I love the challenges of building, marketing and watching new concepts grow into successful businesses.
Would you please spread few words about your current project Logomyway.com?
Who gave the birth to the idea of creating?
I was reading a trade magazine about new businesses popping up because of the downed economy. More people are out of work so they are taking this opportunity to start a business of their own. One of first steps in any building a business is a logo and branding power.

What was an incitement for creating Logomyway.com?
With the downed economy more people are starting their own businesses or revising their logos. I knew Logomyway would be a perfect way to get that logo for your new or existing business.
How long did it take you to develop such tremendous project?
Logomyway took around a 6 months to develop. We worked very hard to make sure the site facilitates both designers and clients in a way that will make it very easy to join and obtain unique logos for any business. We knew it would be a challenge but we were prepared.

What benefits for young web-designers and specifiers (contest holders) do you see in this project?
I think in a design community such as Logomyway you want to submit your best work for everyone to see. Because of this I think alot of designers improve with each contest that they enter. There are so many eyes looking at your designs it's only natural to want to submit the best quality you know how.
Who can participate in contests and if there any restrictions for web-designers and clients?
Any and all designers can join Logomyway.com to enter design contests. The only restriction we have for clients is no adults logos or anything contriversal.

Do you consider formal design education necessary for someone planning to be a freelance web designer?
No, A design education can help but I have seen some excellent designers with no schooling at all. It comes natural for the good designers. it's a gift.
How do you think, what usually counts when selecting a winner?
Great quality and branding always play a big role in selecting winning logos. Every contest is different, what I might like or what other designer like might be totally different from what the client likes. With every contest I'm amazed at what our design community comes up with. So many creative minds working on a logo, it really fascinates me.

Is it possible to make good earnings for freelance web-designers on Logomyway.com?
Yes, Our top designers can make 11,000 in just a few months. I don't recommend quiting your day job though. Logomyway is a fun place to make some extra money and build your portfolio as a designer. We are a smaller community that prides itself on quality and integrity.
What's your point on freelance web-design in general? Is it usually a sideline job only?
I think the good designer can definitely make alot of money online seeking out freelance design work. The more jobs they get the more referrals and long term relationships they will build. Just like any business if you work hard, don't give up and deliver a great product you will succeed.

Can we call Logomyway.com an international project? For we've seen artworks of designers from India, United state, Philippines, United Kingdom, submitted on Logomyway.com?
Yes, Logomyway has designers from around the globe in almost every country. this is what makes LMW so unique and a great place to find custom logo designs. Thousands of minds working together can only produce amazing results.
It's not that we don't believe your words but could you please give us some ‘numbers'? How many designers are already registered, contests held, etc.
Currently we have 2,625 registered designers. We have over 1000 designers following us on twitter that also get notified of new contests. So we have 2,625 registered and 1000 followers. Total designers 3,625

Got any advice or catechesis for beginning logo designers?
Yes, read the contest brief carefully to get a full understating of what the clients is looking for out of his/her logo design. Be patient and improve your skills and the winnings will come. Most important have fun and meet a lot of people with the same interest as yourself, designing is a passion and our community love the challenges and meeting new people.
