How did you get into web design?

The Web design is the superior tool which can convey a self-image in the world for me.

Do you remember the very first site you designed?

Yes, My first client was My father. It was a Web site of the companies of my father.

You are doing a lot of creative work in your portflio, is this a specialization for you?

I want not to be bound by the limit of the Web design. I am interested in all of creative. I believe that in creating something it is vital to always possess a level of curiosity. Often we hear people say that a person is talented for a thing or not talented for that thing, but I believe it is only in how much curiosity one has towards designing and creating something. While it is said that young children remember and acquire abilities much faster than adults, that is because they have curiosity in everything they see. If we keep on having curiosity regardless of how old we grow, we will be able to retain much fresher memories of things and increase more memory ability. To heighten my skills as a creator, I am constantly curious and interested to learn more about photography, architecture, films, industrial design, DTP, paintings among many other creative works.

Where do you get your art for these webpages?

The art resembles a design, but is not same. I think that it is difficult to express art by my work. The design is work to express what the client demands. Art is to express self intention. (Bravo! Hidetsugu - editor's note) However, I think these two expression methods to be able to fuse sometime. Therefore I have an aim. It is that I establish the art design studio which can let business and art fuse.

What will be the next big development in webpage design?

I do not know yet, but the Web seems to move to more interactivity to me. Compared with other media, the Web has the most possibility to succeed at interactivity.'

Have you ever worked with website templates?

No, I always express a new design.

What do you think about Flash technology?

Flash technology is a Web tool with the most possibilities.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Flash?

The advantage of Flash is that it can release imagination. As for Flash, various designs are possible. However, it leads to a decrease in 'Usability' when a wrong design is done.

What are your sources of inspiration?

All creative things... Art, music, architectural design, product design, and nature and all designs of the world.

What was the toughest project or customer situation you?ve encountered?

All projects are the toughest. But I always enjoy it and the work. I discover a happy thing in the toughest inside.

What are your interests and dislikes in webpage design?

Interest points - everybody can send one's imagination to the world... Dislike points - The Internet has too much information. Therefore, necessary information that the user is really requesting has disappeared.
